After the decline of sea freight, will the peak season of truck spare parts in Europe and the United States be more prosperous this year?

Data from several shipping consulting agencies such as Drewry, the Baltic Sea, and the Shanghai Shipping Exchange show that the freight rates of some routes from Asia to Europe and the United States have continued to decline recently, and the demand for container shipping has also shown a downward trend. However, with the lifting of Shanghai's blockade and control, Shanghai Port may have 260,000 TEU of goods pouring into the market this summer.

Affected by the epidemic, the sea freight will remain high in 2021, and the freight rate will drop significantly after the peak in the Spring Festival. So far, the average decline is about 20%. The U.S.-East America-West routes saw a relatively sharp decline, and the European routes saw a larger decline.

In mid-May, the Baltic Sea Freight Index FBX data showed that the price from Asia to the western United States fell to US$12,512 per 40-foot container, the lowest level since July last year; only the freight index on the US-Western route rebounded by 1%.

Although the ocean freight rate has dropped recently, the overall ocean freight rate of cabin pump and cabin cylinder is still at a high level, which has not significantly stimulated the order volume. For foreign trade companies that do CIF, the falling shipping cost is equivalent to the seller's profit, and the feeling for foreign trade people is not obvious.

On the other hand, the peak season in Europe and the United States may be more prosperous this year. This summer, Shanghai Port may have 260,000 TEU of goods flooding into the market. In the last two weeks, the freight rate per FEU on the Far East to American West line increased by $12 to $7,900, a weekly increase of 0.15%. According to industry insiders, the freight rate from the Far East to the West of the United States has risen, mainly because Shanghai has gradually lifted the blockade and some goods have been shipped to the West of the United States, which has driven the freight rate to rise slightly.

At present, sellers are facing greater challenges, including container supply, Amazon warehouse full, inflation, etc., and the biggest uncertainty is still the impact of the epidemic on the entire supply chain of cabin pump, cabin cylinder.
